Requirements to participate and upcoming audition dates are below


Performers
Please complete one of the show-specific forms below to sign up for an audition. In-person auditions are preferred for new artists. In-person or video auditions are accepted for repeat cast members and experienced performers.

Please be sure to review the show schedule below before applying and be prepared for your audition with the following:

  • A 3-minute (or longer) choreographed performance suitible for the show theme.

    • You must demonstrate that you have planned choreo for the entire duration of your chosen song, but it does not need to be perfected.

    • Once accepted, performance music may not be changed.

    • Once accepted, performance choreography changes must be minimal and communicated to the producer at least one week before Tech Rehearsal. There are absolutely no choreo changes after Tech Rehearsal.

Technical Crew
Stagehands are welcomed and appreciated—techies make the magic happen! Please complete a show-specific form below to sign up, just enter n/a for anything that does not apply to you. Duties may include taking tickets, ushering, preparing the studio for the show, setting up/breaking down the portal aerial rig, exchanging apparatuses, moving mats, managing props, operating music and stage lighting, etc.

Rehearsal attendance is mandatory for all participants; please plan accordingly.

  • Tech Rehearsal: Performers must have their routines completely choreographed and performance-ready. There are absolutely no choreography changes after tech rehearsal.

  • Dress Rehearsal: Performers must arrive in full dress and performance-ready attire, and stagehands must be in all-black clothing (or theme-appropriate predetermined attire).

Day of the event
All participants must arrive one hour before the event begins and expect to help with set up, which may include setting up and breaking down the portal aerial rig, moving and arranging chairs, decorating, etc. Stagehands should be in all black (or theme-appropriate predetermined attire). Please be respectful to our neighbors, with whom we share the building locker room, and plan for only minor touch-ups at the studio. Contain your glitter, please!


SUMMER SPECTACULAR
Saturday, July 26th

An outdoor party for the end of the AADL summer game! With food trucks, face painting, and other family fun activities, this event is free for all attendees. Acts and music must be uplifting, cheerful, and family-friendly. Costumes must be classic circus, sparkly, and/or bright or high-contrast colors. Absolutely no “gym clothes” or dark clothing.

Show Schedule

  • 06/08/25 4-7 pm Auditions

    • Stagehands needed: 3

      • Compensation: $100 or Aviary credits for one session of group classes or one private lesson

    • Performers needed: 12-18

      • Silks performers - please keep wind in mind when choreographing your act!

  • 07/05/25 1-4 pm Tech Rehearsal - at the Aviary on the portal aerial rig
    (rain date 07/06/25 1-4 pm)

  • 07/19/25 1-4 pm Dress Rehearsal - at the Aviary on the portal aerial rig
    (rain date 07/20/25 1-4 pm)

    07/26/25 1-4 pm Summer Spectacular - at Vet’s Park ballfields

    • Performers arrive between 11:30- 12 pm - expect to stay until at least 4:30 pm to cheer on your fellow performers and assist with show breakdown.

    • Performances at 1:30, 2:30, and 3:30 pm

    • Wear/bring sunscreen, water, snacks, towel/yoga mat

    • Shade tent and bottled water provided

    • No private changing area available at event site

    • Portapotty ~5-minute walk from performance area

    • Park at Maple Village Shopping Center unless transporting equipment

AVIARY AFTER DARK
Saturday, November 1st at 6:00 pm
Sunday, November 2nd at 2:00 pm

A spicy, spooky, spine-tingling Halloween celebration! Acts must be intense and unsettling or fun and goofy, inspired by spooky season and the darkening days as winter approaches. Halloween-themed routines are welcomed. Classic monster acts (vampire, ghost, etc.) are strongly encouraged to submit early!

      • Compensation: $150 or Aviary credits for two sessions of group classes or two private lessons

    • Performers needed: 10-20

      • Limit of 6 routines on silks

  • 10/28/25 6-9 pm Tech Rehearsal

  • 10/30/25 6-9 pm Dress Rehearsal

  • 11/01/25 Opening Night - seating at 5:30 pm/show at 6 pm

    • Performers arrive between 4:30-5 pm - expect to stay until the end of the event to cheer on your fellow performers and assist with studio cleanup.

  • 11/02/25 Matinee- seating at 1:30 pm/show at 2 pm

    • Performers arrive between 12:30-1 pm - expect to stay until the end of the event to cheer on your fellow performers and assist with studio cleanup.
