Requirements to participate and upcoming audition dates are below
Performer Auditions
In-person is preferred, but videos are also accepted if you cannot make the date. Your act concept and music file must be emailed to the studio by the audition date.
Performers, be prepared for your audition with the following.
A 3-minute (or longer) choreographed performance suited for the show theme.
Your act does not need to be perfected, but choreography must be demonstrated from start to end of your chosen music. You will have a month to polish before Tech Rehearsal. The music must be emailed to the studio in music file format (no links!) no later than one week before the audition. MP3 is preferred, but WAV and AIFF are accepted.
Once accepted, performance music may not be changed.
Once accepted, performance choreography changes must be minimal and communicated to the director at least one week before Tech Rehearsal. There are absolutely no chores or music changes after Tech Rehearsal.
A costume or costume plan. Potential costumes will be discussed at the audition, so options must be available to present. Pictures and links are ok for this; you do not need to make a purchase before your audition.
Act/theme appropriate
Eye-catching - sparkly, bright, high contrast, etc
Absolutely no "gym"/casual or all-black clothing unless deemed performance-appropriate by the producer
Technical Crew
Stagehands are welcomed and appreciated—techies make the magic happen! Duties may include taking tickets, ushering, preparing the studio for the show, setting up/breaking down the portal aerial rig, exchanging apparatuses, moving mats, managing props, operating music and stage lighting, etc. You must attend all rehearsals.
Tech Rehearsals
This is mandatory for all participants; please plan accordingly. Performers must have their routines completely choreographed and performance-ready. There are absolutely no choreography changes after tech rehearsal.
Dress Rehearsals
This is mandatory for all participants; please plan accordingly. Performers must arrive in full dress and performance-ready attire, and stagehands must be in all-black clothing (or theme-appropriate predetermined attire).
Day of the event
All participants must arrive one hour before the event begins and expect to help with set up, which may include setting up and breaking down the portal aerial rig, moving and arranging chairs, decorating, etc. Stagehands should be in all black (or theme-appropriate predetermined attire). Please be respectful to our neighbors, with whom we share the building locker room, and plan for only minor touch-ups at the studio. Contain your glitter, please!
