play flight

Play Flight is open gym time for currently enrolled students to condition and practice. There is a lifeguard on duty, but they are not able to offer instruction. This is self-guided playtime in a safe environment and an opportunity to hone skills you have learned in class, condition, work on sequencing, get feedback from your fellow students, practice a routine for an upcoming LIFT OFF, and have fun!

To participate:

  • 18+ only

  • Enrolled students must have instructor permission, please check with your instructor to see if you are ready to fly solo.

    • Professional performers and instructors, please contact us with your CV and/or a link to your professional website to be cleared for Play Flight.

    • Non-enrolled students may contact us to make an appointment for an assessment, which starts at $70 for 60 minutes. Longer appointments are available, shorter appointments are not available.

    • Go to the Play Flight section of CircusDB and click the “Sign Up” button next to the date you wish to attend.

  • Please follow the rules in order to maintain your Play Flight privileges:

    • To prevent injuries, remember to warm up before, stretch after, and drink plenty of water!

    • Only one student per apparatus is allowed, but you may use multiple apparatuses if available.

    • Work from your notes, do not interrupt the practice of other students or instructors. Please ask an instructor during your class if you have questions.

    • Absolutely no students teaching students. We appreciate that you want to help, but you are not covered by our insurance policy to instruct here.

    • If you need to raise or lower an apparatus, ask the lifeguard on duty to assist you.

    • Using the X-Stage poles requires separate training and a pole instructor's clearance.

      • Please do not use the pole dance equipment until you have been cleared by a pole dance instructor.

      • To use an X-Stage during Play Flight, reserve one of the trapezes and use that space to set up the pole.

    • Play Flight is not the time to try a pose or sequence that you do not know. Please no "I saw this on YouTube" experiments.

    • And finally, if you are recording video or taking pictures during open gym time, DO NOT film/photo your fellow students without their consent. Please be aware of your surroundings and who is the background of your shot.

    • Please see Pricing and Cancellations for additional info.
