Lyra 1

This 75-minute class is designed for novice aerialists to gain confidence and strength in the fundamentals of lyra. Students will learn multiple techniques to mount and dismount the apparatus unassisted, link basic poses into sequences, and work towards inversions and spinning.

PREREQ:

  • Pull over and/or side mount & dismount

  • Star


Pole 1

Ready to view the world upside down? This 75-minute class will spend time training climbs and inversions, spins and poses, and so much more! Students are encouraged to find their own creative voice whether performing class sequences or designing choreography for performance.

PREREQ:

  • Basic and forearm climb

  • Any three basic spins

  • Knee tucks on both sides

  • All genders are welcome in every class at the Aviary.


Silks 1

This 75-minute class is designed for novice aerialists to gain confidence and strength in the fundamentals of aerial silks. You will learn multiple basic climbs and descents, link basic poses into sequences, master single and double foot-locks in the air, and work towards inversions. Each class also includes dynamic warm-ups, stretching, and conditioning exercises designed to target specific strength and mobility for aerial arts.

PREREQ:

  • Basic climb & controlled descent

  • Foot-locks (from ground or in air)


Sling 1

This 75-minute class is designed for novice aerialists to gain confidence and strength in the fundamentals of aerial sling. Students will learn multiple ways to come to seat and stand in the sling, link basic poses into sequences, and work towards inversions and spinning. Each class also includes dynamic warm-ups, stretching, and conditioning exercises designed to target specific strength and mobility for aerial arts.

PREREQ:

  • Tuck, straddle, and/or side mount and dismount

  • Star

  • Leg crochet


Trapeze 1 - returns April 2024

This class is designed for novice aerialists to gain confidence and strength in the fundamentals of static trapeze. Students will learn multiple techniques for mounting/dismounting the apparatus unassisted and will work on mastering fundamental trapeze vocabulary, technique, and sequences. Each 75-min class also includes dynamic warm-ups, stretching, and conditioning exercises designed to target specific strength and mobility for aerial arts.

PREREQ:

  • Tuck, straddle, and/or side mount and dismount

  • Come to seat and come to stand on the bar
