Registering multiple students?

All students must have their own separate account in our scheduling system - all accounts must be created and the included waiver signed by the participating student (or their parent or legal guardian if under 18). We can link family and friend accounts so that you only have to remember one password, can share credits, and sign everyone up for class from one account. Please contact us (once all accounts have been created) to be linked!

Performer Prep - 8 Week Workshop Series

$180 per student

  • 8 classes, either in beginning level or intermediate (must have appropriate experience and instructor permission to join intermediate level)

    • Beginning Youth Aerial classes on Thursdays 6/6-7/25 from 5-6pm

    • Intermediate Youth Aerial classes on Fridays 6/7-6/26 from 5-6pm

  • Performance in our Things With Wings student showcase on 6/28 at 2pm (performer call time 1pm)

This 8 week workshop series is designed for active young people who want to step into the circus spotlight! Violet will guide students through the creation of a short routine on the trapeze, aerial sling, and lyra, to be performed at the youth student showcase on 6/28. Solo and group routines will be choreographed by Violet, and then practiced each week leading up to the performance. We will also discuss appropriate costuming for aerial performances, energy management, and confidence building techniques, as well as learn proper warm ups and cool down stretching. If your super star is ready to shine, this is the class series for them!

The youth student showcase will be part of the Things With Wings event, held at the Matthaei Botanical Gardens, and will include optional face-painting and educational exhibits. Things With Wings is a free event, but Matthaei Botanical Gardens’ parking is metered ($1.50/hr) - we strongly recommend car pooling to the show!

  • Students new to the Aviary must have a parent of legal guardian present on their first day. The guardian does not have to stay for the duration of the lesson, but must be present to meet the instructor on the first day.

  • All student who wish to perform in the showcase must attend a minimum of 6 of these classes, as well as the mandatory dress rehearsal on 6/26.

  • Student absences cannot be made up in another class.
