Registering multiple students?

All students must have their own separate account in our scheduling system - all accounts must be created and the included waiver signed by the participating student (or their parent or legal guardian if under 18). We can link family and friend accounts so that you only have to remember one password, can share credits, and sign everyone up for class from one account. Please contact us (once all accounts have been created) to be linked! 


Youth Beginning Aerial (Ages 8-17)
5/2-5/31/19

This class is designed for active young people to explore the fundamentals of the aerial arts, known as "flying". Students will learn the basic poses and sequences on the trapeze, aerial hammock, and lyra, as well as dynamic warm up methods and cool down stretching. New students will focus on building the endurance needed to spend several minutes in the air, students with aerial experience will layer personal style, choreography, and refinement over the basics. Be ready to build strength, flexibility, and coordination!

All ages will warm up and cool down together. Depending on the size of the class, ages 8-12 and 13-17 will be split in to two groups, each with their own instructor, for all in the air activities.

Youth Intermediate Aerial (Ages 8-17)
5/3-5/31/19

This class expands the skills learned in Beginning Youth Aerial, adding intermediate level concepts and foundational skills on the trapeze, lyra, and aerial sling. Students will work toward increasing strength and flexibility through a variety of focused conditioning and stretching exercises. Newer students will focus on building the endurance needed to spend several minutes in the air. More advanced students will work on more complex sequences, layering personal style, choreography, and refinement of the basics.

This is a multi-level course, and will accommodate intermediate level students and up. Please being thick socks or trapeze boots!

PREREQ:

  • Demonstrated ability/willingness to listen to and follow instructor directions  

  • Tuck & straddle inversions (from the ground)

  • Clean & controlled mount, come to sit, come to stand, and dismount

  • Swing beats (long beats, pike beats, knee beats)

  • Swing beats to tuck or pike up

  • Pullover to front body balance

  • Catcher's hang

  • Single knee hang (hock hang)

  • 3 pull-ups / 10 sit-ups

  • Splits (all 3 ways, square hips, within 6 inches of ground)

Youth Hand Balance & Contortion (Ages 8-17)

This all-level class is designed for active young people to build the courage for inversions and the strength to stay upside down. Students will learn to balance on their hands, create absurd shapes, and find their bendiest self. Each class includes 15-20 minutes of warm-up and stretching, followed by practicing hand balancing and contortion fundamentals. 

  • Please wear socks and long sleeves/layers to class.

  • A back warmer is strongly recommend.
