Beginning Aerial cLASSES


  • All classes in this section are for adults (18+), please see "Youth Classes (ages 8-17)" for younger students.
  • It is strongly recommended, but not mandatory, that all students new to the aerial arts attend Intro level or Aerial Boot Camp classes before joining the Beginning level.

Registering multiple students?

All students must have their own separate account in our scheduling system - all accounts must be created and the included waiver signed by the participating student (or their parent or legal guardian if under 18). We can link family and friend accounts so that you only have to remember one password, can share credits, and sign everyone up for class from one account. Please contact us (once all accounts have been created) to be linked! 


Beginning Aerial Silks

 This class is designed for novice aerialists to gain confidence and strength in the fundamentals of Aerial Silks. You will learn basic climbs and descents, how to apply foot locks, and work towards inversions, as well as dynamic warm up methods and cool down stretching. Be ready to build strength, flexibility, and coordination – and gain a few bruises in unusual places…!

This is a beginner level class which should be repeated until the student has mastered the skills necessary to be approved for intermediate level classes, and is also an excellent conditioning class for established aerialists looking to hone their transitions and perfect their technique.

PREREQS: It is strongly recommended, but not mandatory, that all students new to the aerial arts attend Intro level or Aerial Boot Camp classes  before joining Beginning Silks to learn the following skills:

  • Basic climb & controlled descent
  • Foot-locks (from ground or in air)

Beginning Static Trapeze

This class is designed for novice aerialists to gain confidence and strength in the fundamentals of Static Trapeze. Students will build the strength to mount and dismount the trapeze unassisted, and gain mastery of fundamental trapeze vocabulary, technique, and sequences.  Each class also includes dynamic warm ups, stretching, and conditioning exercises designed to target specific strength and mobility for aerial arts. 

This is a beginner level class which should be repeated until the student has mastered the skills necessary to be approved for continuing level classes, and is also an excellent conditioning class for established aerialists looking to hone their transitions and perfect their technique.

PREREQS: It is strongly recommended, but not mandatory, that all students new to the aerial arts attend Intro level or Aerial Boot Camp classes before joining Beginning Static Trapeze to learn the following skills:

  • Tuck and/or straddle mount and dismount
  • Come to seat and come to stand on the bar

Beginning Aerial Sling & Lyra - starts 9/5!

This mixed apparatus class is designed for novice aerialists to gain confidence and strength in the fundamentals of the aerial sling and the lyra.  Students will learn to mount and dismount the apparatus unassisted, and work towards inversions, as well as dynamic warm up methods and cool down stretching. Be ready to build strength, flexibility, and coordination – and gain a few bruises in unusual places…!

This is a beginner level class which should be repeated until the student has mastered the skills necessary to be approved for intermediate level classes, and is also an excellent conditioning class for established aerialists looking to hone their transitions and perfect their technique.

PREREQS: It is strongly recommended, but not mandatory, that all students new to the aerial arts attend Intro level or Aerial Boot Camp classes  before joining Beginning Aerial Sling & Lyra  to learn the following skills:

  • Tuck, straddle, and/or side mount & dismount
  • Star
  • Leg crochet

Beginning Aerial Sling - last class 8/29

Aerial Sling (also known as aerial hammock), is a single loop of fabric hung from above that is climbed, wrapped around the body, and/or tied to create dramatic drops, poses and movements in the air. This class is designed for beginning aerialists to gain confidence and strength in the fundamentals of the aerial sling. You will learn basic climbs and descents, how to apply foot locks, and work towards inversions, as well as dynamic warm up methods and cool down stretching. Be ready to build strength, flexibility, and coordination – and gain a few bruises in unusual places…!

Beginning Lyra - last class 8/29

The Lyra (also known as the aerial hoop, aerial ring, or cerceau) is a circular steel apparatus, resembling a hula hoop. It is suspended from the ceiling and can be used static, spinning, or swinging.  It is strongly encouraged that students take at least one session of Beginning Trapeze, Aerial Boot Camp, or Beginning Aerial Silks before registering for Beginning Lyra (concurrent enrollment is ok).

This is a beginner level class which should be repeated until the student has mastered the skills necessary to be approved for intermediate level classes, and is also an excellent conditioning class for established aerialists looking to hone their transitions and perfect their technique.
